Insurance
“Peak Performance Physical Therapy can see you
with or without a physician’s referral.”
Peak Performance Physical Therapy accepts most insurance policies including Medicare, private insurance, motor vehicle insurance and workers’ compensation insurance. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your particular insurance carrier.
As a courtesy to our patients, we always verify insurance benefits before your second visit, but if you would like, we can call your insurance carrier prior to your first visit to obtain your outpatient physical therapy benefits.
Most insurance plans cover physical therapy treatment. Sometimes physical therapy benefits are paid differently than your normal office visit. Some plans require only a co-pay while others may require you to meet your deductible and a co-insurance percentage. Your insurance company may also require a referral from your physician and/or prior authorization.
At Peak Performance Physical Therapy, your health is important to us. We have developed several payment options including payment plans and cash discounts. Our billing department will work with you to come up with a plan that will work for your budget.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS
We accept all insurance policies for motor vehicle accidents (MVA). Once you have filed a claim with YOUR insurance carrier we can schedule appointments. MVA claims are handled through your personal auto insurance, regardless of who was at fault in the accident. If someone else was responsible for your accident, we understand their insurance will be covering your medical expenses but it is standard industry practice to bill your insurance first so they can maintain accurate records on your behalf and work to have those expenses reimbursed in a timely fashion. If your insurance is covering all expenses, we will verify your personal injury protection (PIP) benefit to ensure you have that available coverage. If your PIP is exhausted, we can bill your private insurance for any remaining balance not covered. We will not put any accounts on hold, accept any letter of protection or wait for any litigation to be complete before obtaining reimbursement. Please notify us immediately of any insurance coverage changes.
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION
We accept most workers’ compensation plans. After you have filed a claim with your employer we can schedule appointments. We are experienced in dealing with workers’ compensation claims and we will be glad to assist you in your recovery. It is our goal to formulate a plan of care that maximizes your ability to return to work in accordance with your physician’s recommendations. We will work closely with your health care provider(s) to ensure that the program we design for you fits your capabilities and tolerance levels. How effective your personal plan is depends on several things: your ability to attend the necessary appointments recommended by your therapist and physician; your ability to perform the assigned exercises; and your overall tolerance to the therapy program. It is imperative that you maintain an open dialogue with your therapist so that everyone involved in your case can be kept informed of your progress.
DIRECT ACCESS
Every Physical Therapist licensed in the state of Oregon is able to treat patients via Direct Access. In November, 1993, the Oregon Legislature approved practice without referral for Oregon Physical Therapists.
A patient can see a licensed physical therapist* for 60 days without a referral from their physician. If the therapy is to continue after 60 days a referral from a healthcare provider is required.
*Some, but not all, insurance companies require referrals for all visits in order to receive benefits. We can verify this with your insurance company.
Please call our Patient Care Coordinator or any one of our knowledgeable office staff members at 923-0410 if you have any questions or you want to schedule an appointment.
